is most likely discontinuing.
I knew I should've never posted it on deviantART. I knew I shouldn't have let my guard down.
There's a reason why I haven't made any new artwork for the series. A reason I've had no drive to even do small doodles of an idea for a crossover I once loved.
It was yanked away from me. I appreciate that people like it but I have seen time and time again people messaging me with "So and so posted your art on this website" "this person reposted your art on tumblr" "look your art is on this facebook group"
Was I ever consulted first? Was I ever asked if I would like my artwork put on someone's page? Or on their blog? Reddit? 4chan?
Not a single person has come to me about my art except to claim that someone else has taken it and put it somewhere.
No permission, only ONE person has given credit out of 10+
I made the legend of mew because I thought it would be a fun series to interact with both the pokemon and legend of zelda communities together and hopefully gain some recognition. I posted them on deviantart after they already blew up with notes on tumblr so I could gain a wider audience.
The images sure did. They're all over the place now and many people recognize the images. But do they recognize the artist? probably not... it's very unlikely. Even with my watermark, my personal logo that's pasted on all my artwork. It means nothing if there's not a website linking to the original artist plastered smack in the middle of the art. People are still gonna come along and take it.
All the fandom blogs on tumblr who've reposted it? Every single one had their ask boxes and submits turned off. I had no way to contact them and tumblr staff does little to nothing to take down their repost of my artwork.
Does it hurt anyone to do a reverse google search on images to find the source? No.
Does it hurt anyone to save an image and repost it somewhere else? YES. It greatly hurts the artist. more than you could imagine.
I feel like I've been so disrespected with my artwork, not just with multiple legend of mew pieces but even pieces like the espurr post and the "tails of eevee"
I'm very lucky no one has tried to pull anything with the minees and I've been able to gain their popularity while keeping credit for my own ideas. [at least to my knowledge but the minees have been pretty successful compared to other pieces/ideas]
Every message I get saying someone has stolen my artwork, claiming credit or not, the fact that it's out there without my OK is very disheartening.
I've stopped making new art for the LoM series in fear that it'll just go unnoticed by the people who fawn over the first few pieces or that it will get noticed and stolen like the others.
It's tiring. It's wearing me down. And it makes me very hesitant to post my own artwork publicly, at least on deviantart....
I knew I should've left when I had the chance.
The odds of me updating more art here are even slimmer to none.
